01Our statement
Legacy Software Limited is committed to preventing slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking ("modern slavery") in our business and our supply chain.
The Modern Slavery Act 2015 requires a statement only from organisations with a turnover of £36 million or more. We are below that threshold, but we publish this statement voluntarily because our customers, many of them large organisations with their own obligations, need confidence in the companies they work with, and because it is the right thing to do.
02Our business
Legacy Software is a UK software company. We develop and license software that documents mainframe applications and gives organisations an agreed business vocabulary, and we provide installation, consultancy, training and support. Our work is carried out by skilled professionals, mainly in the United Kingdom.
03Our supply chain
Our supply chain is short. Our main suppliers provide:
- computer hardware and office equipment;
- software, cloud and telecommunications services;
- professional services, such as accountancy, legal and insurance; and
- travel and accommodation.
We also work with resellers and integration partners who sell and implement our products.
04Where the risks lie
We consider the risk of modern slavery in our own business to be very low: our people are skilled professionals, employed or engaged directly on fair terms. The highest risk in our supply chain is in the manufacture of electronic hardware, where forced labour has been found in the extraction of raw materials and in component manufacturing. We manage this risk by buying from established, reputable manufacturers and suppliers that publish their own modern slavery statements, and by keeping equipment in use for as long as practical.
05Our policies and practices
- We pay at least the Real Living Wage, check everyone’s right to work in the UK, and never hold identity documents or charge recruitment fees.
- Everyone who works for us has a written contract and works freely, with fair hours and the right to leave.
- Our anti-bribery and corruption policy and our whistleblowing arrangements support this statement.
- We expect our suppliers and partners to meet the same standards, and we include this expectation in our agreements with them.
06Due diligence
Before we take on a significant new supplier or partner, we consider the modern slavery risk of what they provide and where they operate, and we check their approach, including their own statement where they publish one. If we found evidence of modern slavery in our supply chain, we would work with the supplier to put it right, and we would end the relationship if they did not.
07Training and awareness
The directors and anyone involved in choosing suppliers understand the signs of modern slavery and what to do if they suspect it. Everyone who works for us is made aware of this statement when they join.
08Reporting concerns
Anyone can raise a concern, in confidence, with a director or by email to support@legacysoftware.co.uk. We will look into every concern raised in good faith, and nobody will suffer any detriment for raising one, even if it turns out to be mistaken.
Anyone can also contact the Modern Slavery & Exploitation Helpline in confidence on 08000 121 700. If someone is in immediate danger, call 999.
09Measuring our progress
Each year we review: the suppliers we use and their modern slavery risk; whether our significant suppliers have confirmed they meet our standards; and any concerns raised and how they were resolved. We update this statement every year to reflect what we have learned.
Approved by the directors of Legacy Software Limited. This policy is reviewed every year, and sooner if the law or our business changes.
